This is an intensive course which covers all material of the yellow & green courses in a three-day package. We will spend three full days in the archipelago with nights camping out in the archipelago. On request we can arrange three separate day trips or nights at an archipelago accommodation as well.

For whom: for those who wish to learn as much about kayaking as possible as quickly as possible whilst having a great time! We start from the basics and work all the way up to intermediate level during this action-packed course.

Course requirements: no prior experience is required, but some kayaking experience is a merit so you can get more out of the course. If you never been in a kayak you can for example look at out 2/3h evening trip in Stockholm.

Course goal: to be able to confidently carry out your own trip without guide in varying conditions & areas such as the middle archipelago with shorter open water passages. You should be able to paddle, control the kayak and plan a basic route to ensure a fun & safe day out on the water.

Level: yellow + green paddle pass

Course plan: 

  • Understanding the boat’s main elements and how to inspect them before a safe recreational kayaking trip (rudder etc)
  • Understanding safety equipment & how to use it
  • Entering & exiting the kayak
  • Ergonomic sitting position & paddle technique
  • Braking with use of your paddle
  • Steering with paddle and rudder
  • Capsizing and getting to land (voluntarily)
  • Kayaking and traffic
