Online + Nynäshamn, Stockholm archipelago
three days and 2 nights

For whom: for those who wish to learn as much about sailing as possible as quickly as possible whilst having a great time. We start from the basics and work all the way up to intermediate level during this action-packed course.
Course requirements: no prior experience is required, but some experience in sailing (for example having been on a friend's boat sometime) is a merit.
Course goal: to be able to control a regular-sized sailing boat (with help of a crew which can be friends/family) in varying wind- and weather conditions. After this course you should be ready to rent or buy a boat and set sail for some great summer fun on the water! After the course you will have the possibility to take the examination for the inshore yachtman's diploma step 1+2 (Seglarintyg 1+2) with us.
Level: inshore yachtman's diploma step 1+2 (Seglarintyg 1+2)
Course plan:
- Understanding the boat's main elements and how to inspect them before a safe recreational sailing (motor, pumps and vanes, mast, cables, sails, lines & accessories)
- Tying up a few of the most useful sailing knots
- Knowing the main sailing vocabulary such as tacking, jibbing, starboard...
- Motoring in and out of the harbor
- Knowing the points of sail and how to set the mainsail and jib accordingly

- How to read a sea chart and how to use the GPS, which apps to use
- Learning who has right of way on the sea and understanding sea markers
- Practice a man-over-board rescuing (voluntarily, drysuits will be available for this exercise)
